Deacon's Corner February, 2012

We are a great congregation, for Christmas we put together 54 food baskets with a ham or turkey and supplied 120 gifts for children who probably wouldn't have had anything . Thank you to all the people that made this happen. This is “ Gods work our hands” and  for the people this was a miracle. But this means only one thing... that our Pantry is empty and we need to fill it. So if you could just buy a few extra things when shopping and drop them off at the church we can fill the pantry again, again. Thank you.
On another note Ash Wednesday is closing in on February 22nd. At 12:00 noon and at 7:30 pm we will be distributing ashes for those who want them. This is the start of our penitential  season of Lent where we spend the time getting closer to God and to repent for our sins.  A time when we go over our lives and to analyze where we fell down and where we can lift ourselves up to glorify ourselves to God. We will be also having Wednesday services 12:00 Noon where you bring your lunch and enjoy the Service and then at the 6:00 pm SOUP SUPPERS in the fellowship hall with the Service after. Come break bread with us and enjoy the fellowship that happens over a meal, meet new friends and old ones ( long term not age). It has been a pleasure over the last 20+ years to be able to do this with my wife Carol we have seen the children grow up into adults and now participate in the Church activities. Please come and partake. You will not be disappointed but will get a new outlook on the Season.

Your Servant in Christ,
Deacon Rich
