Team
Description:
The Youth Ministry Mission Team (5th grade through post-high
school) shall have responsibility for the development and support of
education, fellowship and spiritual growth opportunities for children and
their families. The integration of Music & Worship and Social Ministry shall
be coordinated with the appropriate mission teams.
Some of the action groups under the team are Luther League, Youth Ministry Education (including Confirmation, Communion Education and Sunday School), high school bells, youth choirs, and so forth. They are included below and on linked pages. The chair of the team is Andy Huber.
Theory of Ministry:
St. John’s believes that connecting our kids to a life of faith and
involvement in the Church includes many points of entry and involvement.
That means having a vital education program, a strong fellowship ministry,
many opportunities to serve God both in the congregation and out in the
world, a variety of worship offerings (including using youth and children as
worship leaders), and a strong music program. We also believe that a
strong youth ministry is supported by youth-to-youth leadership, parental
involvement, lay direction, pastoral guidance, and connections to Christians
from other churches and areas. Whenever possible, our teens themselves
write up reviews of events. Look for their work in these pages.
