July 18 - Please take the opportunity next Sunday to give a special offering to the North Western Diocese of the ELCA – Tanzania. Use a pew envelope for this offering and write Tanzania on it.

July 18 – Hudson Valley Renegades Game starting at 5:05PM. Tickets are $7 per person and $5 for parking. More information can be found on the flyer in the kiosks. Sign up today with Abby. This is a great activity for the whole family.
A Forum – Monastic Lifetime - led by Brother Jim Dowd – Sunday July 25 after the 9:30 service.
July 26 – 30 - VBS Adult Bible Study led by Betty Smith each morning from 9 – 10AM in the Blue Room incorporating the VBS “Baobab Blast” themes.
VBS Week – July 26 – 30 for 3 year olds through completed 6th Grade. Register your child today, registration forms can be found in the kiosks and the folder on the wall in the church office.
July 26 & 29 – Come to the picture tour of Tanzania from 7 – 8:15PM in the Blue Room. Join Deacon Rich on a tour of Tanzania and see the places where Pastor Dan and Susan will be during their visit. These pictures were taken during Deacon Rich’s trip earlier this year.
July 27 – Potluck Supper and Discussion of “The Poisonwood Bible” a novel by Barbara Kingsolver at 6:30PM in the Blue Room. RSVP by July 25th. Questions? Call Diane Betz at 485-7394. Reservation forms can be found in the kiosks or in the folder in the church office.
July 28 – Mary Anne Deik will conduct a “VBS Tour” giving attendees an overview of what the children have been doing and learning during the VBS morning sessions at 7PM. Meet in the Nave.
A book “Holy Conversation - Spirituality for Worship” written by Jonathan Linman is available for $16 in the church office. Pastor Linman will preach and lead a Forum based on his book on Sunday, August 1 after the 9:30 service. Evangelism and Adult Ministry will offer a lunch after. Look for the July/August Journal for more details and a registration form. Call Bill Triebel with any questions at 773-9160.
Register your 3 and 4 year olds for St. John’s fall pre-school program now. Pre-school program information can be found in the kiosks.
Summer Hymn Selection – Choose your favorite hymn to be sung this summer. The Selection Sheet can be found in the kiosks. Fill out and return to the Summer Hymn Selection folder in the Church Office.
Summer Nursery Care Volunteers Needed
It’s time to sign-up to volunteer to help in the Nursery this summer during the 9:30AM Service. 3 Sundays are left to be filled. Please stop by the Nursery and sign-up on the sheet on the door.
Sunday Evening Compline Services to take place in the Chapel at 8PM on July 25, August 29 and September 12.
VBS Outreach Projects: Vacation Bible School will have 2 outreach projects this summer. There will be a food collection for Dutchess Outreach. Please bring non-perishable foods, paper products, soap and shampoo, dental hygiene products and cleaning products to the boxes in the narthex. The other project is continuing to collect funds for shipping the collected books to the KEMPS School in Tanzania. Any extra funds will send to the School Account through Metro-New York Synod.
