Confirmation Program

Our Confirmation program takes place over the course of three years; 6th grade, 7th grade and 8th grade. During this time, the students, their parents, our volunteers, and church staff strive to work with the students in giving them the faith formation tools that help them build a personal relationship with Christ. We have regular Sunday morning lessons throughout the school year and one retreat each year. We explore and encourage prayer and Bible study practices, and what it means to live in the waters of their baptism. We look regularly to the Bible for example, inspiration and encouragement. In the three year program we also look deeply at the following: The Sacrament of Holy Baptism, The Lord’s Prayer, The Ten Commandments, The Apostle’s Creed, the Reformation, and worship traditions and practices. In addition to regular Sunday morning attendance, students do service projects, lead worship and learn about other faiths. Over the three years, regular attendance at worship services and confirmation lessons is expected.
The Confirmation worship service actually takes place on Reformation Sunday of the students’ 9th grade year. The service is planned and lead by the Confirmation students.
