Sunday Church School
Education is offered for all ages (nursery through high school) on Sunday mornings 9:30 to 10:45A.M. The 5th grade class follows Sunday School curriculum for most of the year, but focuses on Holy Communion during the spring. The 6th-9th grade classes are part of the Confirmation program. High School Sunday School is for confirmed 9th grades through post high school. Mike Ignaffo is our Sunday Church School superintendent. Please call the church office if you have any questions about youth education program. See more information about each of these offerings below.
Dutchess Outreach receives two truck loads of groceries
St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church donated two truck loads of canned goods, nonperishable items and clothing to Dutchess Outreach on March 27. The “Fill the Truck” Sunday Church School project that took place on March 26 was a success. St. John’s members weren’t the only ones contributing to the project. Hyde Park Girl Scout Troop 576, Jazzercise group who meets at St. John’s weekly and neighbors around the church dropped off items throughout the week. St. John’s would like to thank all who donated to this outreach project. Check out some of the photos taken the day of the event.
High School Sunday School
After Confirmation, we offer a Sunday School class for youth in the 9th-12th grades plus local college students. The class meets in the Loft above the kitchen in the fellowship hall whenever Sunday Church School is scheduled, from 9:30-10:45A.M. The Loft is also where the Sr. High Youth meet for fellowship activities throughout the year.
