The Lutheran Church confesses the Triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In our preaching and teaching the ELCA trusts the Gospel as the power of God for the salvation of all who believe. The teaching or theology of the Lutheran Church does not have an answer for all questions, not even all religious questions, but it prepares members to be share the faith through speech and in action of God’s rich mercy in Jesus Christ.

There are many ways to personally explore the question of who God is, but the best answer is to read the Bible. The Bible shows God’s love, grace and mercy through His plan of salvation in Jesus. If you haven’t read the Bible before, we encourage you to start with the book of John; an eyewitness account written by one of Jesus’ closets followers.
